eBikeLabs, creator of eBikeOS, the first open operating system for e-bikes, takes a new step in its development with the appointment of Jean-Pierre Ramoul as COO, alongside founder and CEO Maël Bosson. Jean-René Bouvier, co-founder and current COO, will progressively transition toward a strategic advisory role. (Press release in French in pdf)

After an intense R&D phase that established the company’s technological foundation and launched its first products, eBikeLabs is entering a new era: a multiplication of client projects and industrial-scale deployment. In a market now reaching maturity, owning a differentiated technology such as eBikeOS, while maintaining a lean R&D structure, offers a major competitive advantage. eBikeLabs’ strategy to develop a multi-brand software solution compatible with multiple motor systems is now gaining strong traction.

Strengthened leadership to support growth

To succeed in this acceleration phase, the company strengthens its executive team with a decisive blend of expertise:

Maël Bosson – Vision & Innovation

Founder, and CEO of eBikeLabs for 10 years, with a PhD in mathematics and computer science, Maël is recognized as an expert and thought-leader in the cycling industry. Co-inventor of the first eBikeOS technologies, he has brought together strategic investors and partners (Cowboy, Vefaa, Virvolt, Helbako, Sonceboz, Voi, and over 1,000 shareholders). His strength: a clear, differentiating vision of e-bike technology and the market, a proven ability to turn that vision into industrial products, and the talent to unite an open ecosystem around this ambition.

Jean-Pierre Ramoul – Execution & Growth

A telecom engineer, founder of Voxity (a SaaS telephony provider) and manager of CMT Bike (which he successfully repositioned as France’s leading titanium frame manufacturer), Jean-Pierre brings to eBikeLabs a solid experience in building and managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering demanding B2B projects. His mission: to leverage current market traction into robust execution and ensure sustainable large-scale growth.

Jean-René Bouvier – Strategy & Key Account Development

As cofounder and COO, Jean-René has played a key role in structuring the company, focusing it on software, and leading strategic partnerships. With an international career spanning HP, Gemalto and Buzzinbees, and multiple entrepreneurial successes in software and telecoms, he will continue to support eBikeLabs’ growth strategy and key accounts while gradually handing over operational responsibilities to Jean-Pierre Ramoul in the coming months.

Marlène Tissot Desvaux de Marigny – Brand Strategy & Global Go-to-Market

With a Master’s in International Trade and Marketing, Marlène is expert in brand strategy and marketing, and combines strategic vision and operational execution to help technology companies scale. After leading telecom industry media and managing international event projects, she piloted within Seventy Agency global brand strategy and branding campaigns for Ericsson. At eBikeLabs, she leverages her experience across branding, go-to-market, and growth marketing to build a strong global brand and drive sustainable international expansion.

A seamless transition

“Maël and I share the same passion for cycling and active mobility. My role is clear: to transform a company known for its technological leadership into an organization capable of delivering at scale, with reliability and repeatability,” says Jean-Pierre Ramoul.

“We’ve moved from one major project to multiple client programs running in parallel. This evolution requires a solid organization to support our partners and ensure their success. With Jean-Pierre’s arrival, eBikeLabs now has the means to become the global reference in e-bike motor control software,” adds Maël Bosson.

Jean-René Bouvier concludes:

“eBikeLabs has reached a pivotal stage. After several years dedicated to building technology, organization, and key partnerships within an open ecosystem to win volume markets, the time has come to structure our scale-up. I’m delighted to continue contributing strategically to scalability and to support our teams and partners.”

Innovation, industrialization, and expansion across market segments

eBikeLabs is evolving:

  • From a company built around a single major project to a player managing multiple client programs across diverse market segments.

  • From selling intellectual property to delivering and supporting complete production projects powered by its eBikeOS software suite.

While some see the cycling industry as mature, eBikeLabs sees fertile ground: consolidation and rationalization open new spaces for innovation. The opportunities are vast, enhanced safety through intelligent dual ABS, health applications, and embedded intelligence capable of “seeing ahead.”

Innovation has always guided eBikeLabs’ story. Today, it accelerates: the strengthened leadership team is ready to transform eBikeOS, already recognized in the premium urban segment, into an industrial platform capable of addressing all market segments, partnering with the strongest and most ambitious players in each, to support profitable, sustainable growth.
