eBikeLabs opens its capital to accelerate the adoption of eBikeOS, the open, multi-brand motor control software suite

eBikeLabs

Sep 19, 2025

eBikeLabs, the French pioneer in motor control software for electric bicycles with its eBikeOS suite, today announced the launch of a new crowdfunding campaign on Wiseed to accelerate its mission: making light mobility accessible to everyone. (French version in pdf)

The scaling-up process is already underway and acceleration is in progress. With more than 1,000 investors already on board, eBikeLabs is opening a new investment opportunity of €250,000 starting on September 19.

This announcement marks the beginning of a new phase of growth.

In 2024, eBikeLabs achieved:

  • €985k in revenue,

  • Its second profitable year in three,

  • A growing portfolio of customer projects, validating the relevance of its technology, already deployed on more than 50,000 bicycles.

“We are proud to have built eBikeLabs alongside our community of more than 1,000 shareholders.

Crowdfunding is often seen only as a tool to launch a company, but for us it’s much more: a direct

connection with those who, like us, want to take concrete action to build a more desirable

society, and who will use bikes equipped with our technology. From the very beginning, our first

users spontaneously offered to invest. We decided to extend this opportunity to everyone, to

accompany our growth. It is an integral part of our DNA. Investing today means joining a solid,

experienced, and differentiated company, ready to capture a significant share of a global future

market,” said Maël Bosson, CEO of eBikeLabs.

Supporting the transition to sustainable mobility.

With eBikeOS, eBikeLabs promotes:

  • Modal shift toward e-bikes, adapted to new users and daily mobility needs (simplicity, low maintenance, safety),

  • Everyday use thanks to enhanced safety and ride pleasure (ride feeling, regenerative braking, practical locking),

  • Durability through anti-theft features and repairability.

Producing an e-bike represents the equivalent of about 1,000 km of driving in CO2 emissions. To have

a true environmental impact, bikes must last. This principle of durability guides all of eBikeLabs’

solutions.

Funding growth and innovation

This new crowdfunding campaign will allow eBikeLabs to:

  • Expand commercialization of its software platform,

  • Adapt its solution to new hardware,

  • Invest in new R&D programs to maintain its technological edge.

  • In parallel, eBikeLabs continues to invest in R&D with cross-industry experts to build the bikes and technologies of tomorrow, including:

    • An emergency braking system for improved safety,

    • Health and fitness applications,

    • Camera-based applications enabling new use cases.

As the market consolidates, eBikeLabs is positioning itself to go further, serving the daily use of

bicycles.

Regenerating energy, regenerating cities

Until now, regenerative braking has been difficult to democratize in e-bikes due to technical and

efficiency barriers. eBikeLabs has solved this challenge by integrating this functionality directly into

its eBikeOS software platform, making it accessible to all hub-motor-equipped bikes, across all use

cases and price ranges.

“Our mission has always been clear: to remove barriers to e-bike adoption and make cycling

accessible to everyone,” added Maël Bosson. “With regenerative braking, we not only improve energy

efficiency but also offer a smoother, safer, and more responsible riding experience.”

Key benefits for cyclists include:

  • A natural, smooth ride experience, even in urban or hilly environments,

  • Extended range through energy recovery,

  • Enhanced safety via intelligent braking management.

This innovation, already featured on Vefaa and Shwette Bicyclettes, comes at a time of accelerating

global demand for light mobility solutions. By making regenerative braking natural and accessible

across all ranges, eBikeLabs strengthens its position as a software leader in the fast-growing e-bike

industry.
